If you're planning a stay at the Regency Suites Hotel in Calgary, you probably know that this city has a lot to offer in terms of food, shopping, and entertainment.
Did you know that Calgary has a lot of history too? These places tell about our Canadian history and heritage.
Fort Calgary is a National Historic Site. It was built in 1875 and served as a police administration centre, hospital, social centre, and community focal point until it was sold in 1914.
The City of Calgary bought the site in 1974, and it now hosts educational exhibits, tours, concerts, and other events.
Heritage Park historical village opened in 1964. Since then it has become one of Calgary's leading tourist attractions and one of the top living history museums in North America.
Heritage Park features over 180 attractions and exhibits that highlight Western Canadian History. Heritage Park also has places to eat, gift shops, and hosts special events.
The Hangar Flight Museum, formerly known as the Aero Space Museum of Calgary, educates visitors about the evolution of flight.
This is a great museum if you are interested in hearing stories told by people who designed and flew civilian and military aircraft.
Check out their website for more info on monthly events and movie nights!
“We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our room at Regency during our conference, the room was very clean, parking was great and the front desk was excellent. We even got a chance to use the exercise room!” -Janet B.
